The Minnedosa Chancellors swept their semifinal games in the Westman High School Rugby League playoffs on Tuesday at John Reilly Field.
The Chancellors girls’ squad shut out the Dauphin Clippers 38-0 behind two tries and four converts from Sydney Ingenmey. Mallory Workman added a pair of tries, while Kaitlyn Burgess and Robin Bell each scored once.
Meanwhile, in the boys’ match, Logan Patterson scored a pair of tries as the Chancellors blanked the Vincent Massey Vikings 26-0. Tyler Shmon and Blake Marchischuk also scored for Minnedosa, while Justin McKinnon booted a trio of converts.
Both Minnedosa teams await the winners of today’s second semifinals in Souris as the first-place Sabres host the Swan Valley Tigers in the girls’ match and the Crocus Plainsmen in the boys’ game. The league finals are slated for Saturday afternoon in either Souris, or in Minnedosa if the Sabres are upset today.
