Jaycee Castle scored a pair of goals to lead the Brandon Chaos to a 5-0 Westman Women’s Senior Soccer League win over the Brandon Crush at Kirkcaldy Heights School on Thursday evening.

Ashley Scott, Sydney Carter-Squire and Kate Osadchuk supplied the other markers for the Chaos, while Morgan Strachan earned the clean sheet.

ANDREW AGENCIES:

Mike McFadden threw a one-hitter and struck out 10 as the Diamond Dawgs beat the Cubs 8-0 in the Andrew Agencies Senior AA Baseball League on Thursday night at Brandon Field.

Jody Anderson went 3-for-4 with four RBIs, while Ian Barr was 2-for-2 and scored twice. Pat Keating took the loss for the Cubs.

SOUTH WEST:

The Hamiota Red Sox scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh to beat the visiting Wawanesa Brewers 9-8 Thursday in the opening game of their best-of-five South West Baseball League semifinal.

Justin Knight went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three driven in, including the game-winner, while Joel Strachan had two RBIs and crossed home plate once himself for Hamiota. Tyler Reiner picked up the win in relief of Logan McGonigal.

Ryan Powers lasted 2/3 of an inning and took the loss for the Brewers, who host Game 2 tonight at 6:30 p.m. Mark McGregor hit a pair of triples, drove in two runs and scored twice for the Brewers.

Meanwhile, in Boissevain, Jagger Thomas went 4-for-4 at the plate with five RBIs and two runs scored as the Centennials won their series opener 12-6 over the visiting Hartney Hoppers.

Jay Pringle scored three times for the victors, while Junior Brake earned the win on the mound.

Finn Druwe was chased from the game after three innings and took the loss for the Hoppers, who host Game 2 tonight at 7 p.m. Del Cowan went 2-for-4 with two runs scored for Hartney.
