Chiefs in first place in the West

Brett Friesen made 24 saves to lift the Yellowhead Chiefs to a 3-1 victory over the Parkland Rangers Wednesday night in Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League action in Dauphin.

Ashton Anderson and Bradley Bowles both scored on Parkland netminder Matt Kohlman, while Shawn Bowles added an empty netter as the Chiefs (20-7-2) moved into sole possession of first place in the West Division. Matthew Greening replied for the Rangers (4-23-0-0), who fell to 3-9 at home.
