Neepawa’s Jerry Chudley fell from the ranks of the unbeaten in the Brandon Sun Westman Super League of Curling Wednesday night courtesy of a 7-2 loss to Brandon’s Jim Renwick.
It left Terry McNamee and Duane Lang as the only undefeated teams at 4-0.
Renwick (3-1) was in control the whole way, building a 5-0 lead through four ends against Chudley (3-1).
In Wednesday’s other games at the Brandon Curling Club, it was: McNamee 7, Curtis McCannell 3; Lang 7, Brian Fowler 5; Rob Van Kommer 7, Kelly Skinner 4; Kelly Marnoch 5, Tina Kozak 2; and Perry Fisher 5, Mark Anderson 4.
McNamee 7 McCannell 3
McNamee’s Brandon squad (4-0) scored threes in the first and fourth ends to remain undefeated. McCannell (1-3), from Pilot Mound, managed a deuce in the third and shook hands after five ends.
Lang 7 Fowler 5
Lang and his Riverview team (4-0) remained undefeated by stealing three points on Fowler’s Brandon-based team (1-3). Fowler managed a three-spot in the fourth end.
Van Kommer 7 Skinner 4
Carberry’s Van Kommer (2-2) scored singles in the final three ends to break open a game that was tied at four after four ends. Skinner’s Brandon foursome (1-3) scored a three in the third end.
Marnoch 5 Kozak 2
In the battle of Carberry teams, Marnoch (2-2) scored deuces in the third and seventh ends, while Kozak (1-3) only managed singles in the first and fourth ends.
Fisher 5 Anderson 4
Wawanesa’s Fisher (2-2) scored a single point in the eighth end to edge Anderson’s Riverview squad (0-4) and prevent it from winning its first game of the season. Anderson tied the game with a deuce in the seventh end.
