The Crocus Plainsmen followed up their first win of the Winnipeg High School Football League season with their worst loss.
After outgunning the West Kildonan Wolverines last week, the Plainsmen were routed 61-7 by the Kelvin Clippers in a Kas Vidruk Division game on Thursday in Winnipeg.
Victor St. Pierre carried 11 times for 110 yards for the Plainsmen (1-4), while Cody Robinson had 14 carries for 57 yards and scored on a one-yard plunge. Quarterback Ryan Baker didn’t complete either of his pass attempts, and one of them was intercepted by the Clippers (4-1).
Steven Siebrecht led the Crocus defence with 13 tackles, while Spencer Harries had seven tackles and blocked a convert. Nathan Knott added five tackles and a blocked punt for the Plainsmen, who host the Portage next Thursday.
