Skate Brandon’s ConnXion synchronized skating team posted its best team score at the Prairie Regional Synchronized Skating Championships in Virden on the weekend and came away with a second-place finish in the open category.
The squad posted 27.09 points in its free program on Saturday and followed it up with 55.35 points on Sunday for a team-high 82.44 points. They placed second in both programs.
Meanwhile, Skate Brandon’s Wheat Queens finished second in the elementary category with a score of 21.77 points, with the Boissevain Blizzards placing first and Carberry’s Team Energ*Ice sixth.
The Wheat Queens scored 6.80 points for their first free program on Saturday and 14.97 for Sunday’s program for a total score of 21.77.
In other Westman results, Carberry’s Team Energ*Ice placed first in the pre-novice division, with Killarney’s Gravity third and the Boissevain Blizzards fifth, while the Virden Velocity were second in the Beginner 2 division, with Killarney’s Chicks with Picks third. Virden also placed fourth in the juvenile division, while The Pickettes from Hartney were sixth.
Killarney’s Little Chicks With Picks placed second in the Beginner 1 category, while the club’s Tarnished Picks team was second in the Adult SYS II division.
