Conrad named player of the week

Colt Conrad was rewarded for his nine point weekend in the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League by being named the Chicken Chef West Division Player of the Week on Monday.

Conrad, a 5-foot-9 forward from St. Alphonse, recorded a hat trick and three assists for his Pembina Valley Hawks in an 8-6 win over the NorMan Northstars on Friday. He followed that up with one goal and two helpers the next night in a 6-4 victory against NorMan. Conrad now has 17 goals and 44 points this season, which places him fourth in the league’s scoring race.

Brandon Wheat Kings forward Brett Kitt received an honourable mention for the award.
