Forward Tyler Coulter of the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League’s Brandon Wheat Kings is the Chicken Chef West Division player of the week.

Coulter, a 16-year-old who was recently called up to make his WHL debut with his hometown Wheat Kings, returned to the AAA ranks to rack up six points in two weekend games to help Brandon earn a split. After scoring one goal in a 4-2 loss to Pembina Valley on Saturday, Coulter fired three goals and set up two others to lead the Midget Wheaties to a 10-2 thrashing of the Interlake Lightning on Sunday. Coulter is now second in the league in goals (23) and ninth in points (38) in 30 games. Brandon (22-6-0-2) returns to action on Wednesday against Parkland (4-27-0-0) at Dauphin’s Credit Union Place at 7:30 p.m.
