Blake Cramer and Devin Allen both scored a pair of touchdowns to lead the Parkwest Outlaws to a 39-27 triumph over the Virden Golden Bears in the Rural Manitoba Football League on Friday.
In other action in the nine-man high school league, it was: Dauphin Clippers 39, Neepawa Tigers 9.
In Virden, Cramer ran five times for 110 yards and scored on runs of 35 and 51 yards, while Allen caught three passes for 65 yards, including scoring strikes of two and 50 yards. Cody Hunter completed five of 11 passes for 90 yards, while Jason Ritchie returned a punt 60 yards for a touchdown.
Defensively, Tony Byskal had 12 tackles to lead the Shoal Lake-based Outlaws.
For Virden, Alec Anderson caught five passes for a whopping 192 yards and scored touchdowns of 20, 45 and 70 yards. QB Brandt Unger completed all five of his passes on the day to Anderson.
Dustin Siemans led Virden’s ground game, carrying 14 times for 83 yards, while Wyatt Wilson scored on a two-yard run. Alex Bajus and Nick Weisberg led the Golden Bears’ defence with 5 1/2 tackles apiece.
Clippers 39 Tigers 9
In Neepawa, Tigers quarterback Brenden Cowan completed four of seven passes for 84 yards, including a 19-yard TD strike to Jason Caines.
Caines finished with three catches for 54 yards, while Cowan carried the ball five times for 50 yards. Ashton Penner led the Tigers defence with seven tackles.
