Crocus 7th at tournament

The Crocus Plainsmen wrapped up the Piper Classic varsity girls high school basketball tournament in Winnipeg with a 79-25 win over the John Taylor junior varsity team in the seventh-place game on Saturday.

Stephanie Hunter led Crocus with 22 points and 14 rebounds — 12 of which were on the offensive glass. Desirae Peiffer was named player of the game after posting 14 points, six rebounds and five steals for Crocus, while Frances Krinke added 10 rebounds.
