The Crocus Plainsmen topped their group at a varsity girls’ volleyball tournament at St. Vital on Thursday with a 2-1 record.
Crocus beat Garden Valley 2-0 (30-28, 25-14) and College Jean-Sauve 2-0 (25-21, 25-19) in its pool to advance to the round of 16. Crocus fell 2-0 (24-26, 22-25) to J.H. Bruns.
The Neelin Spartans also posted a 2-1 record, but finished second in their pool to advance to the round of 16. Neelin beat Selkirk 2-1 (22-25, 25-15, 15-11) and MBCI 2-0 (25-11, 25-16) before dropping its final match 2-0 (21-25, 12-25) to Miles Macdonell.
The first two rounds of the playoffs run today.
