Cullen strikes twice in final

Jake Cullen scored twice to lead Brandon Source for Sports to a 4-1 victory over Little Italy Pizza in the Division 3 championship final in the Wendy’s Summer Hockey League on Sunday night at the Sportsplex.

Layton Dornn added a goal and two assists while Keesen Richard set up a pair of goals for Source for Sports, with Justin Holder making 31 saves for the victory. Mitch Tilbury scored the lone goal for Little Italy.

In Sunday’s other finals at the Sportsplex, it was:

The Dock 2 Applebee’s 1

Jaycee Magwood scored the second-period game-winner as The Dock on Princess captured the Division 3B championship title.

Brock Paddock also scored for The Dock, while Layne Anderson made 20 saves. Brendan Kokorudz scored for Applebee’s.

Hockey Agency 5 Kirkland 4

Garrett Popplestone factored in on all the scoring with two goals and three assists to lead 2112 Hockey Agency to the Division 4A title.

Brett Young had two goals, while Dan Ashfield scored the other for the winners, with Josh Peterson stopping 30 shots for the victory. Dawson Waddell, Seth Serhienko, Jared Isaac and Taylor Shamray scored for Team Kirkland.

Little Italy 8 The Rink 6

Will Brown fired four goals and set up two others to lead Little Italy Pizza to the Division 4B championship.

Wes Meggison had three goals and two assists, Kenny Bugg added a goal and two assists, while Scott Behrmann notched four assists for Little Italy, which received 26 saves from winning netminder Carter McKinney. Tony Partridge replied with a goal and three assists while Tanner Fluker added a goal and two assists, with Callum McDonald, Megan Robertson, Karissa Haney and Teagan Pringle also scoring for The Rink Nailers.
