Cullum comes through for Trojans

Brayden Cullum scored both goals for the Major Pratt Trojans as they opened the Victoria Inn High School Hockey Tournament with a 2-0 victory over the W.C. Miller Aces on Thursday.

Landyn Cochrane added two helpers, while Sean Cook picked up the shutout.

In Thursday’s other games:

Winkler 4 Virden 3

Jordan Wall had two goals and an assist for Winkler’s Nighthawks. Kyle Elliott replied with a goal and two assist for the Golden Bears, with Matt Hannem and Zach Roach supplying the other markers.

Kelvin 5 Dauphin 3

Jared Lagoski, Bradyn Yarema and Brendan Kruk scored for Dauphin. No details were available from Kelvin.

Weather issues

The host Crocus Plainsmen’s opener against Stonewall has been postponed to today at 8 p.m., due to road conditions.

Beaver Brae has dropped out of the event. The Vincent Massey Vikings and Westwood Warriors will play each other twice today as a result.
