Brayden Cullum scored two goals and set up another to lead the Major Pratt Trojans to a 4-2 win over the Vincent Massey Vikings in the opening game of their best-of-three Westman High School Hockey League quarter-final on Friday night in Russell.
Bret Nahirniak and Jory Dunn also found the back of the net for Major Pratt.
Troy Heywood scored both goals for Vincent Massey.
Game 2 will be played at Kinsmen Arena on Sunday at 8 p.m.
Elsewhere on Friday night, it was: Crocus Plainsmen 3, Glenboro/Carberry/Baldur Wildcats 2; Deloraine/Hartney 6, Melita/ Waskada 2.
Plainsmen 3 Wildcats 2
At Glenboro, Walker Rowan, Austin Dobrescu and Layton Dornn all scored for the Plainsmen as they completed a sweep of the Wildcats in their best-of-three league quarter-final series. Travis Myers and Sebastien Roeder replied for the Wildcats.
