Josh Yaschyshyn scored a goal and set up another for the Dauphin Clippers as they edged the host Virden Golden Bears 3-2 in the Westman High School Hockey League on Saturday.
Brendan Gilroy and Theron Ash also scored for the Clippers (11-1-1). Kyle Elliott netted both markers for the Golden Bears (7-7-0).
At Carberry, Raegan Johnson scored the game-tying goal with 7.4 seconds left in regulation time and netted the shootout winner for the Glenboro/ Carberry/Baldur Wildcats as they edged the visiting Melita/Waskada Devils 4-3. Nathan Grenier had a goal and a helper for the Wildcats (5-8-1), with Sebastien Roeder netting the other marker. Wes Meggison, Blair Brigden and Holden Phillips scored for the Devils (8-6-1).
Meanwhile, in provincial A/AA qualifying playoffs, the Minnedosa Chancellors completed their best-of-three series sweep of the Hamiota Huskies with a 5-1 victory in Hamiota on Saturday.
Colby Ryznar, Blake Marchischuk and Kyle Wahoski all had a goal and an assist for Minnedosa, while Brent Cardy and Merrit Bernes supplied the other markers. Theo Hunter replied for the Huskies.
The Chancellors now advance to the best-of-three semifinals against the Major Pratt Trojans.
