Dauphin deals again

The Dauphin Kings got the jump on tonight’s Manitoba Junior Hockey League trade deadline by adding some scoring and grit on Thursday.

The Kings picked up centre Dillan McCombie, 19, from the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s Flin Flon Bombers for future considerations. The 5-foot-8, 180-pound McCombie had nine goals, 22 points and 102 penalty minutes in 36 games with the Bombers this season.

The Neepawa Natives made a major trade of their own, sending captain Ryley Pace to the English River Miners of the Superior International league for future considerations. Pace, a 20-year-old defenceman who has two assists in 14 games, will be replaced as captain by forward Robby Moar.

Meanwhile, the Steinbach Pistons picked up forward Damien Kulynych, a 20-year-old who has 42 points in 35 games, along with future considerations from the OCN Blizzard for forward David McGregor, 19, forward Ryan Pruden, 17, and futures.

The trade deadline is at 8 p.m.
