Brandon Sun - PRINT EDITION

Doull sharp for Sabres

Nathan Doull had 146 yards of offence and one touchdown for the Southwest Sabres in their 31-14 Rural Manitoba Football League victory over the host Dauphin Clippers on Friday.

In Friday’s other nine-man high school football games, it was: East Parkland Warriors 20, Parkwest Outlaws 15 (OT); and Neepawa Tigers 45, Moosomin Generals 6.

Sabres 31 Clippers 14

Doull had nine carries for 95 yards and caught four passes for 51 yards and a touchdown in the battle of division leaders. Zach Miner completed five of 13 passes for 71 yards, two touchdowns and one pick.

Denis Pozzo had seven tackles and one sack for the Sabres (5-0).

Jacob Thacker had a 60-yard touchdown and Matt Kish scored on a 37-yard run for Dauphin (4-1). The Clippers had 114 total yards of offence.

Thacker had 10 tackles, one knockdown and two assists in the game.

Tigers 45 Generals 6

At Neepawa, Brady Unger returned a missed field goal 110 yards as Neepawa (2-3) topped Moosomin (2-3). Brenden Cowan rushed for 124 yards and one touchdown and threw for 18 more yards. Connor Paterson had 10 tackles, one sack and one fumble recovery on defence.

Warriors 20 Outlaws 15

At Shoal Lake, Reggie Waddell was 9-for-18 for 120 yards passing, but it wasn’t enough as the Outlaws (0-5) fell to the Warriors (3-2) in overtime. Shaun Hunter caught five of passes for 80 yards and Tommy McKay ran for 60 yards and a touchdown for East Parkland. Michael Matiation had 11 tackles.
