Facey shares 2nd place

Hamiota’s Chad Facey finished one shot shy of forcing a tiebreaker at the provincial men’s mid-amateur (ages 25 and over) golf championship in Winnipeg on Friday.

The 36-year-old shot a 3-over 75 on Friday at the St. Charles Country Club to finish the three-round event in a tie for second at 12-over 228 with Winnipeg’s Scott Markham. Winnipeg’s Cameron Lowdon shot a 77 to win by a stroke.

Brandon’s David Glenn, who finished with 256 strokes, was the top Westman player in the mid-masters (ages 40 plus) event in 20th place. He finished 38th in the mid-amateur field.

MacGregor’s Kevin Lamb finished at 261, while Glenboro’s Glen Ford was at 266, Dean Oakden posted a 267 and Killarney’s Bob Chapman finished at 275.
