Bryce Stephenson went 2-for-4 and scored twice as the Neepawa Farmers upset the league-leading Brandon Cloverleafs 5-3 in Manitoba Senior Baseball League action on Wednesday evening at Andrews Field.
Daylon Creasy added a run and an RBI, while Josh Loewen picked up the win for the Farmers (2-11) after holding the Cloverleafs (14-3) to just two runs in six innings of work, despite giving up 10 hits and a walk.
Garett Rempel, who had a hit and scored a run, also earned the save after holding the Cloverleafs to one run and four hits in his three innings of work to close out the game.
Zach Steckler took the loss for the Cloverleafs. He gave up five runs — four earned — on six hits and three walks in his eight innings, with Matt Mutcheson pitching in relief in the ninth.
Kevin McNeill went 4-for-4 with a run scored for Brandon, while Derek Chapman, Matt Gunning and Casey Clark all had a pair of hits and an RBI.
Tonight, the Brandon Marlins host the Reston Rockets at Andrews Field.
