Fordyce goes undefeated

Brandon’s Stacey Fordyce is one step closer to defending her national Dominion Curling Club championship.

Fordyce, Christy Erickson, Stacey Irwin and Pam Gouldie went undefeated in the Westman regional playdowns to advance to the provincial championship for club teams, which is slated for Winnipeg from April 3-6.

Carberry’s Pam Robins, Neepawa’s Darla Hanke and Rivers’ Donna Treloar also came through the Westman playdowns in Wawanesa, while Pilot Mound’s Jackie McCannell earned one of Central’s two spots.

In the men’s playdowns, Brandon’s Steve Irwin qualified out of Westman and will have a chance to defend his provincial title in Winnipeg. Carberry’s Rob Waterhouse also qualified out of Westman as well as Boissevain’s Neil Bugg. Dauphin’s Kyle Forsyth won a best-of-three series to secure Parkland’s lone berth.
