Former Bobcat Sanderson slots six kills for Aussies

Brandon University Bobcats alumnus Paul Sanderson had six kills, a block and an ace for Australia on Thursday in the FIVB World League finals in Italy, but it wasn’t enough as the Volleyroos fell 3-1 (22-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-19) to the United States in their Pool H match.

Edgar Thomas led the Australians (0-1) with 16 kills, two blocks and a pair of aces. Taylor Sander paced the Americans (1-1) with 19 kills, a block and an ace.

The Australians must beat the Italians (1-0) in three or four sets today to advance out of Pool H and into the final four.
