Four Brandonites make Westman roster

Brandonites fill four of the 11 spots on Westman’s female hockey team for the 2014 Manitoba Winter Games.

Forwards Kirsten Brown and Jossa Danis of Brandon made the team, along with defenceman Jalyn Elmes and goaltender Kristen Campbell.

A trio of Hartney players made the team, in defencemen Melissa Hunt and Brianna Williams and forward Amie Hunt. Other communities with multiple players on the roster were Deloraine, Rock Lake and Virden. Blue-liner Kaitlyn Crowe and forward Ashton Bell from Deloraine made the team, as well as defenceman Courtney Ganske and forward Ginnie Grenier of Rock Lake, and forwards Lexie Kalynuk and Mackenzie Roach of Virden.

Others earning spots on the team were goalie Amber Tilbury of Melita, defenceman Shaelyn Vallotton of Glenboro and forwards Chelsea Dearsley of Baldur, Jaycee Magwood of Killarney, Jenna Patterson of Boissevain and Kjierstan Wallace of Oak Lake.

The Parkland roster includes defenceman Tess Rampton and forward Jessi Rampton from Dauphin, goalie Shaeylen Leflar, defenceman Abby Krzyzaniak and forward Jalin Adams of Neepawa, forwards Emma Coulter and Kenzie Robinson of Hamiota, goalie Kennedy Johnston of Roblin, defencemen Sydnee Decorby of Binscarth, McKenna Paddock of Rivers, Tashel Scantlebury of Foxwarren, Hannah Street of Shoal Lake and Mallory Workman of Onanole. Other forwards on Parkland include Amy Tatum of Birtle, Jaedon Cooke of Brandon, Karissa Cullum of Russell, Hannah Fouillard of St. Lazare and Sam Geekie of Strathclair.

Among those making Team Central were defencemen Tamara McVannel and Sheridan Oswald of MacGregor, blue-liners Jenai Buchanan of Crystal City and Leandra Timmerman of Treherne and forwards Abbey Bridges of Pilot Mound and Lindsay Michiels of Holland.

The Manitoba Games will take place from March 2-8 in Morden, Winkler and the RM of Stanley.
