Jon Gaudet scored 2:54 into overtime to lift the Dauphin Kings to a 4-3 victory over the Waywayseecappo Wolverines Tuesday in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.
Gaudet and Jeff Archibald each had a goal and two assists for the Kings (35-11-2), who hold first place in the overall standings. Also scoring in Dauphin’s eighth straight victory were Sutton Olson of Deloraine and Jesse Sinatynski, who was earlier named the MJHL’s player of the month, having racked up 10 goals and 11 assists in 10 January games.
Curtis Veitch scored twice as the Wolverines (18-25-4) took a 3-2 lead going into the third period. J.J. Cruikshank had the other goal for Wayway.
In Tuesday’s other MJHL game, the Steinbach Pistons downed the Selkirk Steelers 4-1.

At Selkirk, Justin Augert set up three goals as the Pistons (25-20-3) moved into a tie for third place in the Addison Division with the Steelers (24-21-5).
Dan Taillefer and Kyle Rous each had a goal and an assist, while Garrett Bruce and Dustin Loeppky also scored for Steinbach. Corey Koop made 35 saves for the win. Shane Gingera scored for the Steelers, who lost their sixth straight.
