The Manitoba Junior Hockey League’s top goaltender, Braeden Ostepchuk, has been chosen to be the league’s nominee for the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s RBC player of the year.
The 20-year-old from Lethbridge, Alta., posted a 37-8 record in the regular season along with a 2.00 goals-against average and a .932 save percentage en route to being named the league’s top net minder and a first-team all-star.
Ostepchuk, who’s in the process of deciding which NCAA school to play at next season, is one of 10 Junior A players eligible for the award, which will be handed out in May at the RBC Cup in Vernon, B.C.
