The Virden Golden Bears came from behind twice in the playoffs to win the Portage Invitational junior varsity girls’ high school volleyball tournament on Saturday.
The Golden Bears rallied to top the Sturgeon Heights Huskies 2-1 (23-25, 25-8, 15-7) in the final. Virden beat Calvin Christian 2-0 (25-12, 25-16) in the semifinals and Steinbach
2-1 (22-25, 25-17, 15-12) in the quarter-finals.
