Grandview set to host North Central all-star game

Twenty all-stars will face the defending champion Grandview Comets in the North Central Hockey League All-Star Game this Saturday in Grandview.

The NCHL all-stars feature forwards Patrick Flynn and Danny Johnston of Foxwarren, Kenton’s Trevor Kozak, Kirby Law, Rick Scott and Taras Turko of McCreary, Curtis Gardham and Nat Howard of Miniota/Elkhorn, Minnedosa’s Russell Huyghe, Roblin’s Jarrett Newton, and Virden’s Kirby Braybrook.

On the blue-line the all-star team will feature Hamiota’s Derek Moar, Miniota/Elkhorn’s Dillin Stonehouse and Devron Stonehouse, and Russell’s Shane Auger and Jordan Holovach, while Cody Pollon of Minnedosa and Cory Gardham of Miniota/Elkhorn are the goaltenders.

Kelly Keast of Roblin is coaching the team, while Bruce McNabb of Minnedosa will serve as the manager.

The game starts Saturday at 6 p.m., following a skills competition at 5 p.m.
