Grenier garners player of week honours

Pembina Valley Hawks forward Colin Grenier has been named the Chicken Chef West Division player of the week in the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League.

The 17-year-old native of St. Leon had a natural hat-trick in Sunday’s 4-1 victory over the Winnipeg Wild, after notching two assists in a 3-2 win over the Southwest Cougars and another helper in a 4-2 victory over the Interlake Lightning last week. Grenier, who is listed by the MJHL’s Winkler Flyers, leads the Hawks in scoring and is tied for sixth in the league with 17 goals and 27 points so far this season.

Duncan Campbell of the Brandon AAA Wheat Kings and Tanner Kyle of the Yellowhead Chiefs were runners-up for the award.
