Greys take masters title

The Clanwilliam Greys are the provincial masters men’s softball champions.

The Westman-based club posted a perfect 3-0 round-robin record and were then awarded the provincial title when Sunday’s scheduled gold-medal game at the John Blumberg Softball Complex in Winnipeg was rained out. Clanwilliam beat the Winnipeg Tigers 12-5 and the Skonan Vets 11-0, while also knocking off the Cross Lake Brewers (score unavailable).

Clanwilliam has now earned a spot in the Western Canadian Masters Men’s Softball Championship, slated for Aug. 9-12 in Winnipeg.
