Tyler Grove scored four goals and set up another as the OCN Blizzard blew past the Virden Oil Capitals 7-2 in a Manitoba Junior Hockey League game Wednesday night at The Pas.
Brady Constant also had a five-point night, scoring once and adding four assists for the league-leading Blizzard (16-6-1). Brandon’s Josh Elmes had one assist for OCN. Ben Johnstone and Lyrik Friesen replied for Virden (8-9-5).
In Wednesday’s other games, it was: Swan Valley Stampeders 5, Dauphin Kings 2; and Winnipeg Blues 4, Steinbach Pistons 2.
Stampeders 5 Kings 2
At Swan River, Garrett Johnston scored a pair of third-period goals to secure the win for the Stampeders (13-8-1), while Virden’s Landon Peel added two helpers. Jon Gaudet scored a goal and set up another for Dauphin (13-6-0).
Blues 4 Pistons 2
At Steinbach, Jeremy Olinyk had one goal and two assists for the Addison Division-leading Blues (16-5-0). Dustin Loeppky and Taylor Friesen scored for Steinbach (8-12-1).
Natives add forward
The Neepawa Natives have acquired 20-year-old forward Dylan MacNab from the SJHL’s Flin Flon Bombers for future considerations. MacNab had one goal in eight SJHL games this season.
