Gudz slips back in pack

Thursday proved to be a long day for Brandon-born golfer Keaton Gudz.

The 15-year-old, who lives in Victoria, finished his second round at the Canadian junior boys’ championship with a 3-over-par 75 and then carded a 76 in his third round to sit tied for 36th at 6-over 222.

Austin James of Bath, Ont., leads everyone at 13-under 167 through two and a half rounds. Play was suspended due to darkness with the third round set to be completed today as well as the final round of play.

Meanwhile, Dauphin’s Connor Shaw posted an 89 in his second round on Thursday and missed the cut at 173.
