The Brandon Bantam AAA Wheat Kings dropped their opening game 5-4 to the Pembina Valley Hawks at a Showcase tournament in Winnipeg on Friday.
Connor Gutenberg scored twice for the Wheat Kings, while defencemen Blake Jameson and Clark Nachtigall also tallied for Brandon.
Brandon was also scheduled to play the Winnipeg Sharks in a late game on Friday night.
