Lois Hainstock captured the Golden Gals provincial title on Wednesday afternoon at the Minnedosa Curling Club.
Hainstock’s Brandon Curling Club team — with third Fran Dagg, second Edith Easton, lead Adele McLaughlin and fifth player June Clark — brushed by Winnipeg’s Rita Vandevyvere 7-5 in yesterday’s final in the 60-and-over women’s championship.
Hainstock advanced to the final by beating Dauphin’s Norma Johnson 8-2 in Wednesday’s semifinals, while Vandevyvere knocked off Hamiota’s Edith Caldwell 8-5 in the other.
