High-scoring Keegan Robinson of the Hamiota Huskies girls soccer team has been named the Tri-Star rural high school athlete of the week in Manitoba.
The 5-foot-8 forward scored four times in the Zone 10 playoffs to help the Huskies take the title and currently leads her team in scoring with 17 goals on the season.
Robinson also added a pair of goals while leading Hamiota to three straight wins to take the Steinbach tournament title.
A Grade 12 student who currently sports a 90 per cent academic average, Robinson also competes in high school volleyball and basketball for Hamiota Collegiate.
Robinson will lead her team into this weekend’s provincial rural championships in Altona.
Minnedosa will try to earn a wild-card spot in provincials this afternoon to join Birtle, MacGregor, Rivers, Dauphin and Hamiota in the championship.
