It was a tough day for Brandon’s Cassie Hawrysh as she wrapped up the eighth and final race on the World Cup women’s skeleton circuit.
Hawrysh, 28, raced to a 17th-place finish at the Igls track near Innsbruck, Austria, but she remains ranked in the top 10 in her rookie season on the tour. Hawrysh, who competes in the team event today, posted a two-run total time of one minutes, 52.03 seconds, finishing 1.57 seconds behind winner Elena Nikitina of Russia. Hawrysh is ranked eighth on the World Cup tour heading into this month’s world championships.
