Some of the top teams in the province will converge on Brandon for the 21st annual Victoria Inn high school hockey tournament this week.
Twenty-eight teams from Manitoba and Ontario will compete in this year’s tournament, which begins Thursday afternoon and runs through to Sunday’s championship final at 3 p.m. Games will take place at Westman Place, the Sportsplex, Kinsmen and Optimist arenas.
Among the teams taking part are the Crocus Plainsmen and Vincent Massey Vikings, as well as the Oak Park Pirates — the No.1-ranked AAA/AAAA team in the province — and third-ranked St. John’s Ravenscourt Eagles, fourth-ranked Vincent Massey Trojans, seventh-ranked Westwood Warriors and 10th-ranked Sturgeon Heights Huskies.
The Neepawa Tigers, ranked No.1 among A/AA teams, will also be in action along with the third-ranked Russell Major Pratt Trojans and the seventh-ranked Carman Cougars.
Virden and Dauphin are the other local teams taking part.
