Hunter has hot hand for Outlaws

Shaun Hunter caught seven passes for 160 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Parkwest Outlaws won their first game of the Rural Manitoba Football League season 19-16 over the Moosomin Generals on Friday at Shoal Lake.

Cody Hunter finished 5-for-5 passing for 70 yards and one touchdown while Reggie Waddell went 7-for-14 for 130 yards and one touchdown for Parkwest (1-5) in the nine-man high school football game. Alex Waudby rushed 13 times for 70 yards and Aaron Tanner made eight tackles and forced a fumble. Moosomin fell to 2-4.

In Friday’s other games, it was Southwest Sabres 37, Virden Golden Bears 0; and Swan Valley Tigers 35, Neepawa Tigers 0.

At Souris, Andrew Davis rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns as the Sabres (6-0) shut out the Golden Bears (1-5). Seth Walker caught an 18-yard touchdown pass from Zach Miner, who finished the day 3-for-14 for 37 yards passing. Walker made eight tackles and Conrad May added two tackles and two sacks.

Jonathan Kliever had seven tackles and five assists for Virden. Nick Martens had seven tackles.
