Hunter's long return sparks Spartan victory

Quinton Hunter scored the game’s only touchdown on a 100-yard interception return as the Neelin Spartans topped the Beaver Brae Broncos 10-4 on a snowy Thursday afternoon in Kenora, Ont.

Hunter also had two tackles and an assist as the Spartans improved to 5-1 in the Andy Currie Division of the Winnipeg High School Football League. Brock Hiltner had nine tackles and an assist for the Spartans, while Keegan Herperger added eight tackles.

The Spartans racked up 210 yards on the ground, led by Dylan Minshull’s 29 carries for 167 yards, which put him over 1,000 yards for the season.

Joe Waters added a 21-yard field goal for the Spartans, who wrap up their regular season next Thursday when they host the Tec Voc Hornets at 4:30 p.m.
