NEW YORK — Former Brandonite Israel Idonije was among the weekend cuts as NFL teams finalized their 53-man rosters.
The 33-year-old graduate of the Vincent Massey Vikings high school program was among the cuts in New York Giants camp, after signing with the team last month. Idonije, who was let go by the Chicago Bears in June, played 11 seasons in the NFL,
10 with the Bears and one season with the Detroit Lions in 2013. The 6-foot-6, 275-pound defensive lineman had 283 tackles and 29 sacks in 149 career NFL games.
Meanwhile former Winnipeg Blue Bombers linebacker Henoc Muamba, 25, made the Indianapolis Colts roster after signing with the NFL club in the off-season following three seasons in the CFL with the Blue Bombers.
