The Brandon Pizza Express Inspire Football Club will host the first Manitoba Major Soccer League Premier Division 2 match in Westman on Saturday when they play Scotia United.
The game kicks off at 3 p.m. at the old German Army soccer field at Shilo and the team is hoping to have a lot of fans come out to support the squad.
“The guys are extremely excited at the opportunity to play in front of our home supporters for the first time in a couple of years,” head coach Scott Haddow said in a press release.
“I believe that Westman as a whole is ready to adopt a more professional look at the sport of soccer,” added manager Taso Spiropoulos. “We would like to help facilitate that by giving the youth soccer program, and the adults soccer community a platform on which to achieve a higher level of success.”
The Inspire (4-1-2), who moved up from the eighth to second division this season, are sitting in fourth place. Scotia United (4-3-1) is one point behind them in the standings.
