Vince and her Carberry Curling Club team of Michelle McFarlane, Teanna Olmstead and Danica Fitzsimmons went undefeated through the Westman under-18 women’s regionals at the Brandon Curling Club on the weekend.

They capped their run with a 6-5 victory over Brandon’s Kaitlyn Payette in the B-event final on Sunday. Vince had topped Payette 8-4 in the A-event final of the double-knockout event.

In the U18 men’s event, Jackson and his team of Brayden Payette, Mark Vachon and Braden Orchard bounced back from a 9-2 loss to Rivers’ Quinn Robins in the A-event final to win his next three games to claim the region’s spot at the Games.

Jackson earned a 6-4 win over Robins in the B-event final and then edged him 6-5 in the ensuing playoff game.

The Manitoba Games will be held in Morden, Winkler and the RM of Stanley with the curling events running from March 2-5.

Meanwhile, Kaitlyn and Brayden Payette will represent Westman at the Manitoba Games in mixed doubles curling from March 5-8. Hamiota’s Alex Lints and Jenna Rystephanuk will also be there representing Parkland.
