Jackson Jacques scored a hat trick and added an assist as the 10A Brandon Wheat Kings defeated the Portage Terriers 10-1 in the Atom A division of the Brandon Tournament of Champions. Kaelan Quane and Jared Sangster each scored twice for the Wheaties, while Hayden Mattic scored the lone Terrier marker.
In other Atom A action, the Virden Oil Kings blanked the 9A Wheat Kings 13-0. Braeden Lewis had three goals while Shane Price had two assists for the Oil Kings.
The Souris Elks beat Transcona 7-0. Tyson Kozak and Dominic Denbow each found the net twice for the Elks.
The Portage Terries and 10A2 St. Boniface Seals played to a 2-2 draw. Avery Coltart had a goal and an assist for the Terriers, while Wil Cormier had the same to lead the Seals.
Peewee AA
The Wheat Kings beat the Northwestern Ontario All Stars 7-1 to open the tournament. Calen Addison had four goals and five points to pace the Wheaties, while Carter Sawchuk added two and Jaymes Knee had a single.
The APHA Rangers won
3-1 over the Weyburn Wings. Riley Stotts had a goal and an assist for the Rangers, while Kyler Douglas had the lone Wings goal.
The Portage Terriers doubled up on the Thunder Bay Kings 2-1. Ben McCartney and Lynden McCallum had goals for the Terriers.
