Artsiom Kalashnikov scored a pair of goals, including an empty-netter, on Sunday as the Virden Oil Capitals beat the visiting Dauphin Kings 3-0 in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.
Cory Haverstick added a goal and an assist, while Adam Iwan made 26 saves in net for Virden (6-4-0). Jeremy Pominville made 30 saves for the Kings (4-6-0).

At Waywayseecappo, Brayden Cuthbert had two goals and one helper, while fellow Brandonite Ty Webber added a goal and an assist for the Natives (2-7-2). Brandon’s Tyson Verhelst made 21 saves for Neepawa. Montana Tanner, who’s from Wayway, and Brandon’s Andrew Clark both had one helper for the Wolverines (4-4-1).
Pistons 6 Stampeders 4
At Swan River, Anthony Walsh scored twice for the Pistons (9-1-0). Max Flanagan replied with a hat trick for the Stampeders (5-7-0).
Blues 4 Terriers 3 (SO)
At Portage, Warren Callis and Jackson Keane both scored in regulation and the shootout for the Blues (5-3-2). MacGregor’s Mitch Wiebe stopped 20 shots for the Terriers (6-3-1).
Blizzard 8 Flyers 7 (OT)
At The Pas, Tyler Grove netted a hat trick and Tim Kavanaugh scored the winner for OCN (7-3-1). Tristan Keck led Winkler (2-6-2) with two goals and two assists. Bryce Enns of Cartwright also scored for the Flyers, who got an assist from Boissevain’s Zack Hicks.
Wolverines 2 Oil Capitals 0
At Waywayseecappo, Conrad McMillan made 26 saves for the shutout. Matt Miller and George Splichal scored on Brandonite Justin Holder, who stopped 19 shots for Virden.
Blues 4 Kings 1
At Dauphin, Brett Brooks led the Blues with a goal and two assists. Dalton Siwak replied for the Kings, who got 18 saves from Killarney’s Brian Archibald.
Stampeders 3 Flyers 2 (OT)
At Swan River, Nic Erb completed his hat trick 2:17 into overtime to clinch the win. Jagger Thomas of Boissevain set up Erb’s first two goals. Adam Vander Linden made 51 saves for the Winkler.
Pistons 6 Blizzard 2
At The Pas, Garret Schmitz scored three goals and set up another for the Pistons and Zach Rakochy made 37 saves.
Steelers 4 Terriers 1
At Selkirk, Soren Fredriksen notched two goals and Braeden Ostepchuk made 32 saves for Selkirk (6-2-1).
