Jeff Archibald, Brandon’s Mitch Van Teeling and Souris’ Tanner Butler all scored for Dauphin to move the Kings past the host Virden Oil Capitals 3-2 in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League on Friday night.
Brian Archibald made 22 saves to seal the victory for the Kings (31-11-2), only allowing the Capital’s (16-25-6) Michael Gorrie and Jordan Greig to beat him.
The Kings now sit tied with the OCN Blizzard for top spot in the league.
Elsewhere Friday in Waywayseecappo, the Winker Flyers tripled up on the host Wolverines 6-2.
Connor Patchett led the way with two goals, while Brandon’s Tanner Jago chipped in with an assist for the Flyers (14-23-8). Pilot Mound’s Brett Pinkerton scored twice for the Wolverines (17-23-4).
Meanwhile, in Neepawa, the Natives scored four times in the first period en route to a 8-5 win over the Swan Valley Stampeders.
MacGregor’s Landon Thomson netted a hat trick for the Natives, while five other players found the scoresheet for Neepawa. Justin Valentino responded with two goals for the Stampeders, while Max Flanagan, Jordan McNaughton and Brayden MacDonald had singles.
And over in Steinbach, the Pistons beat the Selkirk Steelers 3-2 in overtime. Kyle Rous paced the Pistons (21-18-3) with a goal and an assist, while Dustin Bruyere and Matt Glowa replied with the goals for the Steelers (24-18-4).
