Jon Gaudet and Francis Alaire both had two goals to lead the Dauphin Kings to an 8-2 victory over the Waywayseecappo Wolverines Tuesday night to move into a tie for first place in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.
Brandon native Mitch Van Teeling, Blake Kirkham, Tyler Garrioch, and Souris native Tanner Butler also scored as Dauphin (30-11-2) joined OCN (29-14-4) atop the MJHL. Brett Lafond and Pilot Mound’s Brett Pinkerton scored for Wayway (17-21-4).
Elsewhere Tuesday, it was: Winkler Flyers 9, Virden Oil Capitals 4; Winnipeg Blues 10, Neepawa Natives 1.

In Winkler, T.J. Fairall had two goals and five points, while Brandonite Tanner Jago and Cartwright’s Jory Mullin had two assists each for the Flyers (13-23-8). Lyrik Friesen scored twice for Virden (16-24-6), which also received a goal from Souris native Jordan Greig.
Blues 10 Natives 1
In Winnipeg, Jared Morris had three goals and five points as the Blues (29-12-1) blasted the Natives (10-28-5). Clarke Rempel scored Neepawa’s lone goal.
Wayway’s Turner suspended
Waywayseecappo scoring leader Russell Turner was handed a three-game suspension for receiving a match penalty for spearing on Jan. 18 versus the Selkirk Steelers. Turner leads Wayway with 24 goals in 42 games and was tied with Pinkerton for the team lead in points with 41 entering last night’s action.
