Brett Kitt notched a goal and two assists to lead the Brandon Wheat Kings to a 5-4 Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League victory over the Southwest Cougars Wednesday night at the Sportsplex.
Tanner Kaspick and Tyler Coulter had three assists each as the Wheat Kings (27-7-0-2) extended their lead in the West Division to three points over the Yellowhead Chiefs and Pembina Valley Hawks.
Jordy Stallard had a goal and an assist for the Wheat Kings, while Carter McMurdo, Duncan Campbell and Jordan Kaspick also scored for Brandon.
Daylon Creasy led the Cougars (19-17-0-2) with a goal and two assists, while Tanner Lewis had a goal and a helper. Jordan McCausland was the other Southwest scorer.
Tyson Verhelst made 30 saves in the Cougars’ net, while Justin Holder stopped 24 shots for the Wheat Kings.
