Kitt strikes twice for Brandon midgets

Brett Kitt scored twice to lead the Brandon Wheat Kings to a 7-1 victory over the Parkland Rangers in a Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League game Friday night at the Sportsplex.

Robert Hechler, Coltyn Bates, Austin Dorn and Tyler Coulter had a goal and an assist each as the Wheat Kings grabbed a share of first place in the West Division with the Yellowhead Chiefs at 6-2-0.

Josh Kobelka also scored for the Wheat Kings, who received 10 saves from Tyler Gutenberg.

Howard Grieves replied for the Rangers (1-8-0), while Matt Kohlman of McCreary made 30 saves in the Parkland net.
