Knights shine in Senior AA

Mitch Lyall and Bradley Schoonbaert combined on a two-hitter to lead the Brandon Midget AAA Knights to a 12-2 triumph over the Cubs in Andrew Agencies Senior AA Baseball League action Monday night at Brandon Field.

Lyall worked three innings to earn the win for the Knights, who received a single, triple and three RBIs from Jay Pringle and a pair of singles and RBIs from Mason Hodgson.

Pat Keating replied with both Cubs hits, driving in one of their two runs. Losing pitcher Travis Senkbeil gave up six hits and 11 walks over six innings with two strikeouts.

SANTA CLARA:

Winning pitcher Devin Foord scattered four hits over five innings and helped his own cause by going 2-for-3 with three RBIs to lead the host Minnedosa Mavericks to an 8-1 victory over the Neepawa Cubs in the Santa Clara Senior Baseball League on Monday night.

Mark Tibbett gave up four hits and five walks over two innings, while Scott Newton was 1-for-3 with a run scored.
