Tanner Koroscil kept the Yellowhead Chiefs in the playoff hunt in the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League, earning him the nod as the Chicken Chef Player of the Week.

The 17-year-old forward scored three goals, notched four points and finished with a +4 plus/minus rating as the Chiefs won two of their three games to force a one-game tiebreaker showdown with the Interlake Lightning for the eighth and final playoff spot tonight in Shoal Lake at 7:30. The 6-foot-3, 170-pound Birtle native, a prospect of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League’s Virden Oil Capitals, is 18th in league scoring with 22 goals and 46 points in 44 games this season.
