Kyle runs wild against Thunder

The Westman Wolverines are on a roll.

After losing their first four games of the Manitoba Major Football League season, the Wolverines have now won two straight, blasting the Interlake Thunder 58-10 Saturday at Stonewall.

Brad Kyle ran for 203 yards on only eight carries for the Wolverines, including touchdowns of 52 and 45 yards. Shayne Sebree ran 10 times for 50 yards, including a five-yard score, while Jared Spearing had a four-yard touchdown on his only carry.

Seth Hume completed only two of his nine pass attempts, but they went for a 30-yard-touchdown to Grant McDill and a 10-yard major to Danton Nagorski. Nagorski also spent some time under centre, completing 2-of-4 passes for 64 yards, including a 45-yard TD to Terry Doull.

Defensively, Tain Heywood had three tackles and three interceptions, returning one 60 yards for a touchdown. Mason Kaluzniak had six tackles and an interception, while Spearing recorded 3.5 tackles and an interception, and Adam McClelland added 5.5 tackles and a half sack.

Kyle Pacheco booted a field goal and a rouge on a kickoff, hitting five of six extra points. Nagorski punted five times for 179 yards and hit one of two conversions.

After dropping the Thunder to 0-6, the Wolverines will play their last two games at home, starting off by hosting the Fort Garry Lions this Saturday (3 p.m., Neelin).
