The Brandon Cloverleafs remained atop the Manitoba Senior Baseball League standings with a 6-4 win over the host Oak River Dodgers on Sunday afternoon.
Derek Chapman went 1-for-2 with three walks and scored three times, while Matt Gunning drove in a pair of runs for the Cloverleafs (4-1).
Zach Steckler scattered four runs and five hits while striking out 10 in eight innings to earn the win, while Matt Mutcheson struck out two in the ninth to pick up the save.
Ryan Shaw took the loss for the Dodgers (2-4) for surrendering five runs on eight hits and four walks in seven innings. He also struck out eight.
Nat Howard drove in a pair of runs for Oak River, while Drew Birss was 1-for-4 with a run scored.
Meanwhile, in Neepawa, Ty Webber drove in two runs and came around twice himself as the Brandon Marlins kept pace with the Cloverleafs courtesy of an 8-2 win over the Farmers.
Eric Zamrykut added a solo blast for the Marlins (3-1), who overcame an early 2-0 deficit, and Ryan Duncan picked up a pair of RBIs. Sam McNeise threw a complete game and gave up six hits and struck out eight for Brandon.
Josh Loewen was charged with four runs and six hits while striking out five in six innings to take the loss for the Farmers (1-4). Torey Scott hit a solo blast and scored the other run for the host squad.
